S/S FIRING — NOW AVAILABLE
Mahk is a Korean ethos —
rough, but properly rough. A piece forms whatever the hand, glaze and fire gave it, and that's what makes it worth having.
Contemporary ceramic objects that keep the evidence of their making — the press of a hand, the drift of a glaze, the verdict of the kiln.
Shop the firing
8 one-of-one pieces from the latest firing. Related in spirit, never repeated in form — when one is gone, it's gone.

Care & handling
Three things worth knowing.
Wash
Hand wash, skip the dishwasher.
Sudden heat is what crazes a glaze. Warm water, soft cloth.
Live with it
The glaze keeps recording.
Tea, oil and sun deepen the surface as the piece is used.
Last
Fired to stay.
Thick stoneware, fired hard. It doesn't soften, fade or wear thin — made to be kept, not replaced.

The studio
I don't correct the mistakes, sand the thumbprint, or hide where the glaze ran out of patience.
